Unifying learning @ salesforce

Problem

Salesforce’s learning ecosystem was fragmented, with dozens of learning options that were difficult for customers to navigate and employees to communicate. At the same time, Trailhead was being elevated as the parent brand for all learning and community offerings, but there was no clear framework to unify and organize these programs. A more cohesive structure was needed to make learning simpler, clearer, and more accessible for customers.

Guiding Principles

  • Customer First: Every decision should be made from the customer's perspective.

  • Lead with the Benefit: Messaging should clearly articulate how the customer benefits.

  • Clarity is King: People engage most with what they easily understand.

  • Less is More: A streamlined learning experience requires a simplified brand system.

Solution

  • Unified Brand Architecture: Developed a structured framework that consolidated all learning offerings under the Trailhead brand, making it easier for customers to find relevant programs.

  • Simplified Messaging Hierarchy: Created a clear marketing framework to help teams tell a more cohesive story, ensuring learning content was easy to promote and targeted the right audiences without overlap.
